Timeline
2370s
2373: Launched and assigned to the newly formed fourth fleet. Designated to a logistics support role.
During the Dominion War, her large cargo bays were filled with medical beds and equipment, and most of the repair bays had their focus narrowed, turning them into medical storage and fabrication areas. This role continued to be in demand following the resolution of the conflict. As demand lessened, the Rubidoux reverted to her original configuration and continued to support the aid efforts both within and beyond the federation.
2380s
A new decade, a new focus. The Rubidoux found herself configured for scientific support, part of the efforts to put the previous decade's conflict into the past and begin anew. The Rubidoux found herself part of three major efforts to reestablish and renew three major scientific bases and research posts, last time remaining onsite for months at a time, proving the endurance of this modern workhorse.
Unfortunately, events on the galactic scale forced the recall, reconfiguration, and redeployment of this reliable vessel. Back in the familiar logistics role, designated to support the evacuation and relocation efforts ahead of the Romulan supernova, she and her crew found themselves operating in an area neither had dared venture into before - The Neutral Zone. Transportation of materials and supplies was the task at hand, laying the groundwork for the potential massive operation. Then came the Mars attack. Then came the withdrawal.
