Py’Tellan is the current commanding officer of Deep Space 17. Advancing through the science division, she has served on a wide variety of Starfleet installations and starships throughout her thirty-year career. Py’Tellan has previously commanded the science vessel USS Tabora on a five-year mission of exploration beyond the Typhon Expanse. A resulting deep familiarity with the region of space known as the Typhon Frontier, its peculiarities and inhabitants, led to Starfleet tapping her for command of the newly constructed Canopus-class station.
