The USS Givens (NCC-60973) is a Steamrunner-class starship of the United Federation of Planet's Starfleet serving in the Fourth Fleet's Task Force 17 since 2401.
Operating primarily out of the task force's headquarters at Deep Space 17 in the Typhon Frontier, Givens can provide quick response support to Starfleet ships attached to Task Force 17 operations. True to her class, the Givens partakes in non-specialized mission profiles but has an ability to be a capable generalist in most tasks it is assigned.
In Play
- As a Fleet Asset in Task Force 17, Givens is available for all members to use within their writing.
- She is excellent at providing the initial ‘hook’ for any mission. Often going on general patrols or checking out scientific curiosities, the Givens can stumble across or scope out a problem before your ship is assigned to deal with it.
- While it’s fine to have the Givens show up and for your crew to interact with these characters to learn the lay of the land before a mission, you can also name-drop the Givens as providing the background information.
- The Givens can also make a great ship to be dealing with a known problem off-screen, freeing up your ship to focus on the mission at hand.
