The Messif Supply Depot is a civilian-owned station operated by the Federation in the Deneb Sector. Located on the surface of Messif VII, a Y-class planet, the depot was originally a refinery for dilithium deposits discovered at the start of the 24th century. After these dried up, the station was changed to operate as a supply depot for civilian traffic in the area. Because of the nature of the planet, it is usually only visited by industrial ships, rather than those travelling for leisure.
When the Dominion Lost Fleet conquered Messif in 2401, it was repurposed to supply and support Dominion ships operating on the frontier. It is believed that some, but not all civilian staff have been replaced with Dominion crew.
The atmosphere is filled with thermionic radiation discharges, which makes approaching the depot an issue. Orbiting transponders with high capacity shielding were established in orbit of the depot and within the safe zones of the atmosphere to allow an easier passage down to the planet and the depot.

- This article was written for the ‘Hit and Run’ mission in the Lost Fleet campaign, and is intended to be used for reference by that mission’s writer. The member may edit and update this article to reflect additional setting or story developments.
- Members who are not part of this mission may refer to the depot or the Messif system, but should not integrate them into their stories without consulting the mission’s writer.
- Some Federation citizens are believed to still be working at Messif, forced to labour by the Dominion. Any strike here would have to target industrial equipment rather than the main complex itself, or somehow evacuate civilians first.
